About Us

Our Story

We are a small farm in Loudoun County, Virginia who have chosen to raise heritage livestock. Cotswold sheep, and Buckeye Chickens are watched over by Maremma guardian dogs. Our animals graze on our lovely grass laden hills, supplemented by GMO free feed and as little chemical intervention as possible. Our chickens free range eating grass, bugs and the best feed we can supply. We enjoy watching our animals grow and try to improve our stock with each generation. There are 3 generations working together for a healthier lifestyle. We feel very blessed to be able to love what we do.

What is a Heritage Breed?

The Livestock Conservancy defines Heritage Breeds as: traditional livestock breeds that were raised by our forefathers. These are the breeds of a bygone era, before industrial agriculture became a mainstream practice. These breeds were carefully selected and bred over time to develop traits that made them well-adapted to the local environment and they thrived under farming practices and cultural conditions that are very different from those found in modern agriculture.

Our Animals

We raise Heritage breed livestock. These are old established breeds whose population is threatened. Our animals are slower growing, grass fed, and supplemented with non-GMO grains when needed.  They live an ideal, quiet life in the country, admired and respected.
